What To Do If You’re Declined For A New Credit Card

a group of blue credit cards

The biggest thing I preach to families who want to travel more is that they need the right credit cards in their wallet.  That doesn’t have to be 5 or 10 credit cards like me (okay, so I have a lot more than that).  Sometimes, just one credit card (the right card) can make a huge difference in how you travel.

Take the recent Southwest credit card offer that came with a companion pass.  Free travel for a companion for 11 months?  What’s not to like?  But what if you apply for a new credit card and get declined?  It’s not a topic that’s discussed too often amongst folks in the travel blogging world.  Thankfully, I’ve got you covered.

I had Jason Steele as a guest on my podcast this week.  He’s a credit card guru, next-level ninja sort of guy.  We discussed some great strategies for what to do when you’re declined for a credit card.  In many cases, a quick call to the customer service line can get you approved.  We also had Jen back on the show to talk about cheap flights for families and Spencer to talk about how to score award seats to Europe for your entire family.

If you’re not a podcast fan, you can find links to all of the posts here.

Hope you enjoy the show!
