If you’ve been reading my blog regularly, you probably remember me mentioning Luxury Travel Diary in the past.  They always have a host of travel auctions going on.  They fell off my radar for a bit, but I was poking around the site this morning and found some pretty worthwhile travel auctions to look into:

2 nights at Sofitel Shanghai Hongqiao for ~$150Sofitel has a reputation for solid international hotels.  When I look at a few sets of random dates for this hotel I see rates over $300 a night.  $150 for 2 nights strikes me as a pretty darn good deal if you’re headed to Shanghai.  This might dovetail nicely into some of the really cheap fares we’ve seen to Asia recently.

4 nights for 6 people in a luxury apartment in Rome for ~$600: While I’m not a big fan of apartments/AirBnb, they’ve become quite popular for travelers.  This auction comes with a free transfer from the airport in Rome.  That’s worth a decent chunk of change right there.  Plus, they supply basic groceries and a tour of Rome.  The apartment is located near the Spanish Steps.  That’s a good central area which would allow you to get to a number of destinations easily.  There’s also a Metro stop in Spanish Steps.

A full day 4×4 tour and winery visit in Israel for ~$35: I’m not familiar with Israel geography, but a 9-hour desert tour and a winery visit sounds like fun to me!

The Final Two Pennies

There are over 100 active auctions live on Luxury Travel Diary right now.  They run the gamut.  The examples above were just a few that appeal to me.  I frequently see auctions closing on Luxury Travel Diary for less than I think they should.  There are some great deals to be had for bargain hunters!
