Earn 1,500 Bonus United MileagePlus Miles For Online Shopping!

United Airlines has a new shopping portal promotion out for just a couple of weeks.  Shop between now and October 13th and earn the following bonuses:

• Spend at least $150 and you’ll earn 500 bonus miles
• Spend at least $350 and you’ll earn a total of 1,500 bonus miles

While I wish this were running longer, 1,500 miles is a nice bonus if you have $350 in spending you can direct to one of the merchants on the United Airlines shopping portals.  You won’t believe the sheer number of stores available through the shopping portals.  Considering you’re paying the same price you normally would, you’re getting 1,500 miles for a few mouse clicks.

The new feature the American Airlines AAdvantage shopping portal just rolled out will work really well with promos like this in the future (on the AA shopping portal, of course).  That’s why I’m hoping the United shopping portal follows suit.  Being able to stack earnings like this on purchases you already planned to make is the bread and butter of mileage earning if you’re not a road warrior.

*During the “Fall Bonus” bonus campaign, which runs from 10/02/17 through 10/13/17 at 11:59:59 pm ET (the “Bonus Period”), Member will earn a one-time bonus of up to 1,500 MileagePlus® bonus award miles on qualifying purchases, in addition to the standard MileagePlus miles earned from shopping online through the MileagePlus® Shopping mall. This one-time bonus award will be determined using one of the following tiers, based on Member’s cumulative qualifying purchases made during the Bonus Period:  Tier 1 bonus: 500 miles for qualifying purchases of at least $150; or Tier 2 bonus: 1,500 miles for qualifying purchases of at least $350 or more. “Qualifying purchases” do not include returns, cancellations, shipping and handling, taxes, gift card or other cash equivalent purchases, and certain products that are not eligible for bonus miles.  Please see the MileagePlus® Shopping mall site for details on product eligibility and other restrictions. Please allow 8-10 weeks after the Bonus Period for bonus award miles to post to your MileagePlus® Shopping account. The Tier 2 bonus provides the maximum number of miles that will be awarded.
