Low fares are pretty much the norm for flights to Europe nowadays. Some of that is the influence of carriers like Norwegian Airlines and WOW Air, who is still selling $99 one-way tickets to Iceland.
In other cases, it’s carriers that have added capacity and likely still aren’t filling all the seats they added.
That’s the case with the current TAP Portugal sale featuring fares starting at $187 one-way from a handful of US cities to places like Rome, Milan, Venice, Barcelona, Madrid and Paris. The Flight Deal always seems to find the best deals, and this one ranks pretty highly for me.
These are for the first 3 months of 2017. The reason why I like this one so much is that it’s from more than one US city and appears to work for a whole bunch of European cities. You won’t earn much in the way of miles on this flight if you’re a Star Alliance guy.
I would also suspect that folks with elite status on a Star Alliance carrier can get reciprocal benefits like free bags, priority boarding, etc. I’ll do some quick research on that.
This one is definitely worth looking at quickly. I doubt those fares will last.
