My Hotel Elite Status: Recap of 2016 And Looking Forward To 2017

I knew that my January was going to be brutal on the road.  It performed as advertised and I’m exhausted.  There’s still 10 days left and I still have another business trip.  Sandwiched in between I’ll need to find time to build two Pinewood Derby cars and help plan a birthday party for my soon-to-be 6-year old son.  Here’s hoping February slows down a bit. Pizza Week In Review For Sunday, January 17th

Given my recent travel craziness, I found myself with a rare week at home.  I still ended up at an airport to try and work on an airline ticket that I couldn’t change over the phone and we did the kids skiing, but the rest of the week was work.  You’d never know it based on how bad my desk looks. I’m Still Executive Platinum. Are You?

I’ve been traveling overseas the past week, so I hadn’t gotten around to checking my status level with American Airlines.  I had written recently that I was pretty sure I’d wake up the first day of March and not be Executive Platinum for the first time in 6 or 7 years.  While American Airlines is in the middle of their merger with US Airways, they’ve been tackling the integration in many small phases. There were a handful of changes to be enacted on March 1st, including some tweaks to the domestic complimentary upgrade process.  On […]
