Quietly, Another Battery Problem For The 787

Japan Airlines reported smoke coming from the main battery compartment on one of their 787s as it sat on the tarmac at Narita airport in Tokyo yesterday. Quoting from the WSJ Article: JAL said white smoke was detected Tuesday at around 4:15 p.m. Tokyo time by a mechanic who was checking the cockpit before the plane was to depart for Bangkok that evening.
