While the brightest lights of Daily Getaways have faded a bit over the years, there are still some solid deals for family travel.
Marriott Rewards has released their new promotion, MegaBonus. It has a choice for customers, making it rewarding for occasional and frequent travelers. Which is the right promotion for you?
Quarterly promotions from hotel companies are definitely opportunities to leverage your points balance, even if they’re nowhere near as rewarding as they used to be. Is IHG Accelerate a promotion worth your time?
The Best of the Rest is my effort to summarize all the travel/miles & points stories that interested me on a daily basis but didn’t have time to write about in length. Culled from over 100 blogs/authors I follow, some are passed along without comment, while I add my analysis to others. This is your shortcut to find out what’s going on in the travel world without having to read dozens of travel blogs to get all the best info.
Daily Getaways are travel discounts for normal people. Some deals represent a modest savings while others can save you significant amounts of money on your next vacation. Truly awesome deals are harder to find than they used to be, so plan ahead and research the packages you’re considering.
I’m happy to share all of my slides from Frequent Traveler University, including detailed information about American Airlines AAdvantage, Club Carlson, Hyatt Gold Passport, IHG Rewards, Hilton HHonors, Marriott Rewards and Starwood Preferred Guest. I’m happy to answer any questions you have!
Daily Getaways are back and they start today. In case you’re not familiar, Daily Getaways are daily deals sponsored by the US Travel Association. Here’s a breakdown of promotions from IHG, Hyatt, Marriott and Starwood: IHG Rewards: Registration Link. This promotion follows in the tracks of some other variable promotions IHG has had in the past year or so, like The Big Win. While I’m a […]
Some more items of note on a quite Sunday: John at Loyalty Lobby is reporting that some folks are having their IHG accounts closed because they registered for promotions that weren’t targeted for. There may be more to this story, as John also brings up people who were managing multiple IHG accounts and getting targeted for closure. That strikes me as much more significant that registering for a promo you weren’t targeted for. I also think it’s unlikely that your account will be closed if you register for one promo […]
Today’s Daily Getaway is a complete repeat of something from week 1, IHG Rewards points for sale. I’ve copied that post over below in case you missed it. If you’re looking for the cliff notes version, the IHG packages are a good deal if you have a specific redemption in mind, but I wouldn’t load up speculatively. Read on if you need more info… In case you’re not familiar, Daily Getaways are daily deals sponsored by the US Travel Association. Some are better than others, so you need to think […]
