Private Lounge at EPCOT For Disney Vacation Club Members

a large round building with palm trees and blue sky

I seem to be talking more and more about Disney these days on the blog.  For those that aren’t Disney fanatics like us, don’t worry.  It’s not a large strategic shift in the subject matter.  There just happens to be a lot of interesting things about Disney I’ve discovered lately.

This one is a small update, but a cool one for families at Disney World, especially in warm weather.  Disney Vacation Club members now have access to a member’s lounge inside EPCOT.  It’s currently listed as a benefit for 2017 only; unclear if it continues after that.  It looks like a cool place to recharge during a long day in the parks.

Private Lounge at EPCOT

I haven’t been in the lounge yet but I plan to visit it during our “emergency” Disney World trip coming up.  Here’s what the lounge offers:

  • Comfortable seating
  • Complimentary soft drinks
  • Children’s play area
  • Wi-Fi
  • Charging stations
  • Computers with printers
  • Member Services Advisors

The lounge is open from 10am to 6pm.  It’s located on the second floor of the ImageWorks merchandise location within the Imagination Pavilion at EPCOT.  To translate that into plain English, you enter EPCOT, head to the right after you pass Spaceship Earth.  The Imagination Pavilion is located past The Land on the way to the countries (where Figment is).

The Final Two Pennies

The price of a Disney World park ticket continues to increase in price.  For a family to get the most value out of a day in the park, that means staying as long as you can.  On a hot summer day, getting to sit down in air conditioning and grab a free drink is a great way to recharge.  Wi-Fi and the ability to charge your phone is a nice plus as well, though you could always decide to waste money on a battery like this.

You need to be a Disney Vacation Club member to access the lounge, so this obviously isn’t for everyone.  Our family is sure to find value in it.

  1. We’ve taken advantage of the Epcot lounge during our last two trips. Make sure you have your DVC card or a photo of it on your phone to enter. There’s just a couple gaming computers for kids, but the space is nice. If you want coffee, you need to ask for a k-cup from the attendants at the desk. An attendant comes around with an assortment of chips, Chips Ahoy cookies, gummy bears, etc… Basic snacks you’d find at Costco or Sam’s Club. Nothing healthy. There isn’t a bathroom in the lounge for people to use. I’d love to see something like this at the Magic Kingdom. The Top of the World lounge at Bay Lake Tower was fun. The $12 seven layer cake was delicious and it has a great view for the MK fireworks.

  2. Shannon nailed the description, so I wont repeat. The lounge has been open since last Summer and is indeed a good respute from the crowds and heat (or occasioanl cold or rain).

There are several “private” longes around Disney World as well, though there used to be many. General Motors at Test Track, Siemens at Spaceship Earth are just two. Others in the past included Excon (World of Energy), McDonalds (Dinosaur), FedEx (Space Mountain), Nestlė (The Land), and Kodak (Journey into Imagination). Living Seas, Horizons, and several others had them too but I no longer recall who the sponsors were.

Access to them is usually reserved for best corporate customers and by contacting the companies, usually through sales channels. Once you get into one, the others offer reciprivol priveleges.
