A New Way To Track Santa’s Sleigh On Christmas Eve!

a map of the united states with red planes

It’s that time of year again.  Santa has already started that voyage around the world to bring toys to boys and girls on the nice list.  If your children want to use technology to track Santa, there are a couple of ways to do it.

We know that Santa has already filed his flight plan and the authorities have notified planes to watch out for his sleigh.

As in year’s past, NORAD will be tracking Santa Claus, so you can use a computer or smart phone to check the website frequently.  I’m pretty sure Mommy Points was the first one to point this out to me a few years ago.

But, times change, technology improves.  Now, one of my favorite aviation geek apps gives us a great new way to track Santa’s progress live.  I wrote about the Plane Finder app earlier this year.  It provides great visualizations of all the planes in the air.  I’ve stared at the app for way too long since I discovered it.

Now, they’re tracking Santa!

Once you load up the app on your smart phone (or Apple TV), search “Santa” and you’ll see his “flight” pop up.  He’s currently in Southeast China as I write this post.
