Cheap Fares To Florida and CA, Delta Tries Really Hard To Tell The Truth and Hyatt 48 Lex, Gone? Best of the Rest for September 1, 2015

The Best of the Rest is my effort to summarize all the travel/miles & points stories that interested me on a daily basis but didn’t have time to write about in length.  On a daily basis, I try to keep track of roughly 100 different blogs (try being the operative word) that have interesting things for you and I to learn from.  Some are passed along without comment, while I add my analysis to others.   This is your shortcut to find out what’s going on in the travel world without having to read dozens of travel blogs to get all the best info.

Here’s what I’m reading about today:

Cheap Flight(s) of The Day: ~$100 flights from Philly to Fort Lauderdale, roundtrip.  Geez.  $99 JFK-Palm Springs flights on JetBlue are pretty nice as well.

Like Gary, I had no idea who the band is, but Citibank is holding a private concert for American Airlines credit card holders.  That’s pretty cool.

Wait, what?  Hyatt 48Lex is gone?  That stinks.  I really liked that property, though I prefer Hyatt Union Square.

Ever wanted to wreck your hotel room like a 80’s punk band?  Well, this isn’t exactly that, but it looks pretty close.

Delta:  Um, yeah, Mr. Judge?.  We changed our mind.  We know we said that we just wanted to use the Southwest gates for a bit.  But, what we really meant is we think you should just take the gates from them entirely.  But, we’re saying this in the name of all that is right and fair in the….oh, never mind.  We just want them.
