Up to 6,000 Miles For A New Hotel Booking And Plenty Of Cheap Fares To Europe And Asia. The Best of the Rest on Monday, May 25, 2015

That Kaligo offer I mentioned a couple of days ago where you can earn up to 6,000 miles for one hotel booking is now active.  Frequent Flyer Bonuses has the info.  The tough part for me with offers like this is that I struggle to get enough paid and award nights between Hyatt and SPG to keep top-tier status on both (5o nights/25 stays with Hyatt, 100 nights with SPG).  But, if you’re not in that predicament, it’s hard to pass up even the minimum 2,000 miles, considering a value around 1.5 cents each.  Hard to get that kind of value out of the hotel points from one cheap stay.  Just make sure you’re not paying a higher rate than through other channels.

I don’t recall a time in recent memory where there were as many great fare sales as right now.  Here are some links to Flight Deal offers you want to see:

Today is the last day to get a 60,000 point bonus on the Chase Ink cards.  These are some of my most frequently used cards for awesome bonuses like 5 points per dollar on all phone, internet and cable bills along with office supplies (great ways to leverage that one, think Amazon gift cards!).

Uber is finally approved for a return to Nevada.  In a city with as much graft/bribery as Las Vegas, not surprising this got done.

So, does my wife laugh or slap me if I buy her this bathing suit?

Cathay Pacific finally adding wifi to some of the longest flights in the world.  Great news, though unfortunately not in time for my 16-ish hour flight to Hong Kong coming up soon.

Malaysia Airlines has entered bankruptcy as it tries to re-create itself as a smaller, more regional airline. They’ve been incredibly unfortunate, with the disappearance of MH370 and the downing of MH17 by nefarious means over Russia/Ukraine.  There are still plenty of theories on the MH370 disappearance and the discussion continues.

The somewhat reliable trick to score first class award inventory on Qantas to Australia.

I didn’t realize that Southwest doesn’t actually fly any redeye flights.  Apparently, there’s a reason, according to Cranky Flier.

If you’re visiting Abu Dhabi and want a cheaper place than Burj Al Arab, Heels First has you covered.

The Forward Cabin shows us how to search for hidden first class Etihad inventory on Expert Flyer.

Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend!
