More Details On The Starwood Uber Partnership

A few more details on the partnership between Starwood Preferred Guest and Uber:

How To Sign Up:

Click here for the SPG sign-up page.  You’ll need your SPG credentials next to sign into your SPG account.  Once you’ve done that, you’ll need to sign in to (or sign up for) Uber.

You may need to change the e-mail address on one of your accounts to make sure they both match.  Once you’re signed into Uber, you’ll see this screen.

Don’t get too worried about this.  Even me, the living social troglodyte, didn’t have a problem with SPG and Uber sharing info.  Once you’ve done that, you’re back to the SPG site:

One more click and you’re all done.

How Quickly Will My Points Post For An Uber Ride?

In my early experience, pretty darn quick.  Both times, the initial Uber ride posted in 24 hours and the bonus points for being a 75-night Diamond posted within 3 days.  The posting looks like this:

When Do I Earn Bonus Points For An Uber Ride?

You can earn bonus points for any day you stay at an SPG property.  This includes the full day of your check-in and check-out (also common days for an Uber ride since you’re likely on the way to/from the airport).

This has held true for my last two trips, and I’m happy to be earning a few hundred extra Starpoints each trip!
