50% More Miles From US Airways, Is Delta Really Charging Elites More For Award Tickets And More Travel News

Is Delta really charging elite members more for awards than non-elite members?  Wow, that technology needs help.

Meanwhile, US Airways MasterCard is offering 50% more miles on all transactions from March 1st through June 30, 2015 in a very widely targeted offer.

That’s good news for fans of the airline, but it looks like there’s going to be a fight to get this done.  JetBlue is largely irrelevant to me since they’ve killed most useful flights out of my home airport of IAD.  But, they’ve got a really nice transcon business class product (Mint), and when you also consider that East coast folks may be able to connect through LGB to Mexico or Central America in the (distant) future, that’s a big step forward.

Other than making me exhausted, is frequent travel killing me?

I’m not picking my airline based on the coffee they serve in the air, but apparently some folks are.  I truly can’t imagine that saving money and improving operational efficiency by keeping pilots from needing to stop for Starbucks is the byproduct of such a change.
