Recapping The First Pizza In Motion Happy Hour

What do you get when you mix a bathtub-sized glass filled with something green, pizza and travel geeks?  My first happy hour event for blog readers, held at Generous George’s in Herndon, VA.

First Happy Hour

No, I have no idea what was actually in the green bathtub.  20 or so of my readers and their family got together for some pizza.  The kids got to make their own pizza while the adults traded travel tips.

First Happy Hour

I enjoyed getting a chance to meet some of my readers and answer some questions, but there wasn’t nearly enough time to answer as many as I would have liked.  Some folks suggested a group Q&A session for a future happy hour, so I’ll working on finding a venue that might make that easier.

The food and drink were courtesy of me, but folks really wanted to contribute to the bill.  Instead, they made charitable donations, making it a positive event all around.  That was pretty awesome for me, as I was holding the event to thank you, my reader but everyone wanted to thank me.  Thank you.  No, no, thank you.

I can’t wait to do another one, and I really want to thank everyone who took the time to come out and participate.  Trust me when I say that this blog is a labor of love, not what pays my mortgage.  Meeting folks who get value out of what I write is especially rewarding for me.

Keep an eye out for an announcement of another happy hour, and let me know if you have any suggestions on what you’d like to see in a meet & greet event.
