Want A Free Ticket To Frequent Traveler University Advanced?

Those of you that follow along here know that I’ve presented at a handful of Frequent Traveler University events.  These are great events for folks who want to learn more about travel, whether that’s cheaply, comfortably and/or to exotic destinations.

They recently announced an advanced session for folks who already know the basics and want to take things to the next level.  This is a really thorough agenda with advanced details on many key areas to help you earn and redeem miles for great trips with ease.  It’s coming up quickly, July 18th-20th in Chicago, IL.  The event has been sold out for months.  There’s a thread on Milepoint that covers all the details.

One of my blog readers, a dear friend, can’t attend and hasn’t found someone to take her ticket (I haven’t heard back from her on whether I can use her name in the post, so she remains our tooth fairy for the moment!).  So, one of my lucky readers is going to get a free ticket to the event, valued at $199!  I’ll personally be covering the $25 transfer fee for the winner.

Because of the short timeframe, I’m going to run a quick contest.

Leave a comment (one per person) on this blog post between now and tomorrow, Saturday July 12th at 11:59pm.

I’ll select the winner as early as possible on Sunday so they can make travel plans.  My friend is also holding a room at the host hotel at the group rate if you need a place to stay.  This hotel room can be transferred into your name.  You will be responsible for all charges if you choose to take the hotel room, but have no obligation to do so.

Please help out your fellow travelers by only replying if you can actually attend.  It would be great to see the ticket go to someone who can use it.

  1. I definitely need some advanced training! I just returned from a 15-day trip to Europe for which I redeemed a horrendous pile of Avios and got two canceled flights and lost luggage to intensify my buyer’s remorse.

  2. Would love to come! Registered for the Chicago Seminars in October, but would really like to be at an advanced version

  3. I have friends in CHI and would love to attend. i love each and everyone of you miles and points addicts!!!

  4. I would love to attend. I live in the Chicago suburbs, and the dates fit into my schedule perfectly.

  5. I’d love the ticket—like many of the other commenters, I live in Chicagoland and was too slow in signing up for FTU Advanced in July. Thanks!

  6. I have been waiting waiting and still waiting to attend one of these session. Since I live in Chicago, I would appreciate the opportunity to attend and meet all these interesting people in person.
    Thank you.

  7. I would love the ticket! I was so disappointed that I didn’t jump on buying a ticket quick enough when they were available.

  8. I live in Chicago and would love to attend FTU! I’ve been pouring over every blog and forum out there for the past year and would love to have an opportunity to learn and meet others as excited about miles and points as myself 🙂

  9. Id really love to attend. Need to learn to replace ff accounts following a fantastic all miles/ points family vacation in asia.

  10. My family members and I have quite a large hoard of various FF miles, but I’ve been discouraged lately by the increasing difficulty of using them while avoiding or minimizing YQ.

Just last night I was trying to set up a North America – Morocco trip in biz, and was quoted YQ+other fees of almost 1000 USD by ANA. I would love to attend FTU-Advanced and learn better how to find and ticket award travel to reduce those ridiculous surcharges/tees.

  11. What the heck, I’m in! Between UA, AA, & WN, I’m sure I can manage to book award flights at the last minute. 🙂

  12. I would love to attend for advanced training and advice. Missed out on opportunity to buy a ticket. Thank you!

  13. We paid last year to go to tampa, but my spouse blew out her acl and had to do surgery. We just missed seattle because I had a motorcycle accident. I am originally from Chicago and always love great reasons to drive back. (4hrs.) This weekend could work great if my name was chosen. Either way, thanks for thinking of the group. I am still trying for our 1st international trip this December. Thats, of course, as long as we stay healthy. Hahaha.

  14. Would love the free ticket to Chicago. Just signed up for your blog (took awhile but I am pleased to be in your group now).
