Boeing Gains Clearance for New Dreamliner Configuration

As reported by the Wall Street Journal today, Boeing has received clearance from the FAA for the Dreamliner outfitted with GE engines.

It’s normal for the FAA to require “clearance” of a plane multiple times for different engines.  The first Dreamliner to receive clearance had Rolls-Royce engines.

Why is this significant to me?  Japan Airlines is the launch customer for the Dreamliner outfitted with GE engines.  That means the plane I won a seat on for the inaugural BOS-NRT flight should be delivered shortly!
